This week our prayer focus will be Seeking Godly Wisdom

This week we will be praying for Godly Wisdom - for ourselves, our leaders, our friends, family, our co-workers, colleagues, teachers, neighbors, people in our communities. 

Chapter 28 in the book of Job discusses that there is a knowledge of natural things - things that man can reason and understand; and then there is wisdom that is a gift from God.  

Verse 12 of Job chapter 28 asks: "But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the path of understanding?"  Verse 20 in the same chapter asks again: "Whence then cometh wisdom?  and where is the place of understanding?" 

The answer is revealed to Job by the Lord and Job declares in verse 28 "...Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding."

James reminds us "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.  For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed." (James 1:5-6)
